Last Week

Last week...

-Our fridge stopped working

-I got my first ticket (deserved, unfortunately)

-The A/C went out on THE hottest day of the summer so far

-Our computer died

On the bright side...Jared was able to fix the A/C and the computer and the fridge was fixed yesterday (covered by our home owners insurance, love it!).

I should also mention the fact that I get to see a lot more of that guy, Jared, lately. We get to have lunch dates, walks/park time after work (and dinner...that I cook [gasp!]).

It is a whole new life we are living here. Despite the minor setbacks here and there we are LOVING it!

More 4th of July

4th of July

We spent our 4th of July at the Santa Clara carnival which had games, a fire truck, food, ducks, live bands and much more but we didn't have time to see it all! We will be back for many years to come, I am sure.

 

 

 

She's Crafty

And she's just my type...

I have been excited to do crafts with Lucy for the last month or two but I kept telling myself to wait until we were in our new place so that we actually had a space to do/store them. Well, we finally do! We had a great time getting crafty together.

 

Can you name which band sings the first line (and title) of this post?? I'll give you 5 bucks if you get it right. Well, maybe I will just tell you that you are cool instead.

We're In!

After we arrived at the house I had a little moment of hesitation about moving from our beloved Berkeley but after the furniture started going in I felt a little better.

The family room will probably always be my favorite place in this house. It is where the internet and TV both are. Uummm, enough said.

 

The living room is in need of some furniture as you can tell...

 

Don't you love unpacking? It looks fun and you're jealous, huh?!

I forgot what it is like to have real cupboards to store kitchen items. I keep looking for my clothes dresser that used to house all my kitchen stuff. I find that I can't put anything away in here just yet.

 

The garage has been the savior of the move. I can leave boxes in there and slowly pull them into the house as we unpack. Otherwise the entire house would look like this.

 

PS Where/when did we get all this stuff? I thought I was the master uncollector (is that a word? whatever, I make up words all the time)

Moving Day!

June 8, 2009 was the day we decided to head to our new home.

 

 

 

Thanks to our wonderful friends that helped on the Berkeley end. I feel that writing a million thank you cards wouldn't be enough!
